Black and Latino Studies Working Group

The ARTLC Black & Latine Studies Working Group has now convened for two sessions. This group is a mix of educators from multiple CT public school districts who range from having taught the Black & Latine Studies course since the pilot year to educators who are teaching the course for the first time this year! Led by ARTLC steering committee members Jennifer Heikkila Diaz, and A’Lexus Williams, all educators are focused on fostering their personal growth as well as their students' growth. To engage with this concept educators are encouraged to think about the course’s impact both inside and outside of the classroom, and they are encouraged think about how these influences can expand. This has materialized into the group sharing anti-racist content, resources, and pedagogical practices, and there is so much more to come!
