Mars Colonization

These resources are for any middle-school educator interested in teaching the terror, wonders and science of space exploration through an anti-racist lens.

As a preview, the subsection “Humans Should Stay Home” introduces students to concepts of land ownership and colonialism through a discussion of Mars. “Dark They Were and Golden” highlights the climate refugee crisis on our planet while “Martian Metropolis” helps students connect technological developments with imperialism.
